19 January 2012 au2mation, a Texas-based automation product and service provider, announced today that NovaTech, LLC (Lenexa, KS) has selected COPALP’s IEC61850 communications stack for integration into it's product range.
In 2010 NovaTech purchased from au2mation the STRATON® IEC61131-3 solution and integrated into their Orion product. The agreement to use the complementary IEC61850 solution extends the relationship. Ray Wright, VP Marketing at NovaTech, said of the decision: "We evaluated the COPALP IEC61850 communications stack along with offerings from other established suppliers. We selected COPALP for the following reasons:

• Our previous experience with COPALP product (IEC 61131-3 controller software) was favorable. The code was very stable and training and support first class. This important development stayed right on schedule from start to finish.
• The modern, object-oriented COPALP 61850 software stack was deemed more suitable than competitor offerings, and the stack could seamlessly integrate with our existing products.
• au2mation and COPALP could provide licensing and commercial flexibility to meet our business model, including a favorable arrangement to use code with other NovaTech companies
• au2mation and COPALP provided professional pre-sales support including on-site software demonstration and local single point of contact for coordination."
