Straton 7.4

The new release 7.4 of straton is henceforth available with always more functionalities.

7.4 version available now!

In the new release of straton®, version 7.4, COPALP continues its ongoing developments with the aim of offering a universal programming and configuration environment. The integration of new protocols, IEC61850 from the energy industry and BACNET from building automation, characterizes this approach. In addition, a new file management component has been introduced in this release. This component improves the ultra-portability of straton® and reduces the integration time for systems that do not support file management.

Below are the main new features introduced in the straton® version 7.4:

  • IEC 61850
The IEC61850 is a new software component provided by COPALP which allows to unify the control for the substations systems and distributed equipments for the power production, from the electric basic equipment up to the control & watch systems.

  • Virtual File System
The Virtual File System is an abstraction layer for handling memory blocks in RAM and on backup support (Flash, EEPROM, Disk...). It significantly simplifies the porting effort of straton® and is particularly well adapted to small embedded systems with no OS support.

  • BACNET
Copalp has implemented a portable BACNET stack in their straton product for very small devices as for PLC controllers. The "C" ANSI code of the stack is portable to any hardware platform with minimal effort. The biggest advantage of the Copalp implementation is a very small footprint for the program and its associated memory space.
